Web 2.0

The term Web 2.0 means different things to different people, but overall the 'Wisdom of Crowds' has created enough overlap to create some sort of agreement of what it might mean to the majority. To help you along, Wikipedia has an explanation of sorts on Web 2.0

To Ad.WRIGHT! we feel comfortable with a much broader description of where the web is, in a place in time. Its an evolution and convergence of tools, practices, usability and how we use and own information.

Web 2.0 from Wikipedia

Ad.WRIGHT! have been part of this development from the early days, building 'social software/networks' and community based web sites. We now utilise all our skills to create truly cutting edge experiences for our clients.

To many of our clients, what we create for them can be the make or break of a business idea so we have to get it right. Usability, marketing and strategic thinking are all components to the success of our clients.

The tools we use are secondary to achieving the goal, but, if your interested, we develop primarily using 'open source' technology, generally LAMP (Linux,Apache,MySQL,PHP) or Java. We are also proficient in AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) which also goes hand in hand when building applications in Flash which uses the same underlying scripting language, namely Javascript.

Both AJAX and Flash allow us to create user experience that do not involve a refreshing of the browser page, this in turn helps the application to feel more like a desktop application. No refresh generally means more efficient use of the server resources, so its not just about pretty layouts.
