iMarketing launches for iPhone
Date : Oct / 2008

Continuing its efforts to deliver Asia's most timely and comprehensive news, opinion and strategy across all platforms Marketing magazine, through its web enabling partner Ad.WRIGHT!, today launches a new initiative called iMarketing.
iMarketing is an iPhone application that delivers on optimized, searchable version of marketing-interactive.com to users' iPhones.
The app, which is available through the iPhone Web apps store for free, or can be accessed simply by typing www.marketing-interactive.com/iphone into your iPhone Safari browser, then bookmarking the page, was named overnight as an Apple staff pick in the app store.
Adding the app to your iPhone adds a unique Marketing icon to your iPhone start page which when clicked instantly starts the site and connects you directly to Marketing's content.
"You can't stand still in the evolution of media and when AdWRIGHT! showed me this application they had been working on I was amazed. For those with the iPhone and hopefully, sometime in the future a few other handsets, this fills the gap in Marketing's content when you don't have access to the print edition or the full website with you," Tony Kelly, Marketing magazine editorial director, said.
"Speed of light communications drives the business world we all operate in and we want to make sure Marketing magazine is at the vanguard and practices what it writes about and we think the iPhone is game changing and we want to be part of that game."
Not only does the iMarketing experience deliver sectionalised news content instantly from marketing-interactive.com it also delivers images and soon video from the new Marketing galleries, Snapped LIVE! which have just been created on the website.
Ad.WRIGHT! digital director Martin Henwood, who created iMarketing, said:
"This really came from wanting to read the Magazine on the iPhone when traveling, whether its a taxi or train or last thing at night when you can 't be bothered to boot up the laptop. The nice thing is that when you have news as an icon on your homescreen of the phone, its an easy click and your straight to the content," Henwood said.
"We took the content from marketing-interactive.com and processed the page, stripping out everything that is unnecessary. Which improves the readability though the iPhone, your more focused on the content and it feels easy to read with the iPhones large screen."
iMarketing is part of Marketing magazine's evolving digital strategy which will culminate in a complete rebuild of marketing-interactive.com to integrate it more fully into the community built around the magazine.
